Francesca Moore

This month, we catch up with Francesca Moore, Senior Associate, whose background in analytical chemistry gives her a strong understanding of workplace health risks. From memorable trips across the UK to the realities of working on sites where nail varnish isn’t permitted, Fran shares an insight into her role and life at Armstrong Environmental.

How long have you worked at Armstrong Environmental?

I’ve been with Armstrong Environmental for 1 year and 9 months.

Can you describe your role within the team?

I’m a Senior Associate consultant within the occupational hygiene industry.

My role mainly involves carrying out the air sampling, which goes hand in hand with LEV testing, as well as conducting noise assessments for a wide range of clients.

The role is super varied and is a good balance of site work and office-based activities.

What do you enjoy most about working for Armstrong Environmental?

I enjoy the fact that every day is different. The variety of clients we work with keeps things interesting, and the people I work alongside make the job even more enjoyable.

What’s the biggest challenge in your role?

One of the biggest challenges is occasionally having to make sacrifices outside of work when the business requires travel and overnight stays. I’d also have to say working on sites where nail varnish isn’t permitted!

What’s been your favourite place to visit through work?

I always enjoy working for clients in London as it gives me the opportunity to spend time with friends while I’m there. Another highlight was visiting a client’s site in Inverness last summer, which gave me the chance to climb Ben Nevis which was fab!

If you could have dinner with three people, past or present, who would they be?

  • Molly Mae
  • Tyler the Creator
  • Matt Damon

What three words would your colleagues use to describe you?

  • Energetic
  • Friendly
  • Personable

What advice would you give someone starting out in the industry?

Be prepared to make on the spot decisions and trust your judgements.
