On 11 September, the Armstrong Environmental team joined more than 90 delegates and LEV specialists at the OXYL8 National LEV Duty Holder Conference at the Hilton East Midlands Airport.
As sponsors of the event, it was a great opportunity to meet duty holders from across the UK and discuss some of the challenges involved in managing LEV effectively.
Our own Joss Warren and Fran Moore also took to the stage, presenting on LEV auditing, commissioning and the important relationship between engineering control and workplace exposure assessment.
A recurring theme throughout the day was that effective LEV management involves much more than completing a Thorough Examination and Test every 14 months.
Risk assessment, design, commissioning, maintenance, TExT and exposure assessment all have a part to play in ensuring LEV continues to provide effective control.
These principles sit at the heart of Armstrong’s LEV Route to Control approach.
The day generated plenty of discussion around commissioning, managing larger LEV portfolios, missing performance benchmarks, exposure monitoring and demonstrating ongoing control.
It was also an opportunity to demonstrate our LEV Tracker and show how we help clients manage LEV information and actions across larger estates.
Most importantly, it was great to see so many duty holders and specialists in one room sharing experience and asking questions about how LEV can be managed better.
